XFC-22 — High-Performance Modern Catboat by Arey’s Custom Boats

The XFC-22 is an innovative, performance-oriented catboat from Arey’s Custom Boats—their fastest design yet. First launched in 2022, she made an immediate impact, earning Best in Show at the WoodenBoat Show in Mystic, Connecticut.

Built to combine the charm of classic catboat styling with modern materials and race-ready performance, the XFC-22 features a carbon fiber mast and bowsprit, a Quantum Thurston full-batten mainsail, roller-furling staysail and gennaker, and an array of high-end custom racing upgrades. Her self-bailing cockpit, tiller extension, and jiffy reefing system reflect the practical needs of both day sailing and competitive racing.

For auxiliary power, she’s equipped with a 14hp Beta diesel—perfect for getting to and from regattas. A full electronics suite includes a Garmin GPS, depth sounder, and knot meter, along with running lights, spotlight, horn, and required safety gear.
